Accessibility

The standard we build to

WCAG 2.2 level AA. That is the target for every page on this site, including the pages behind a sign-in.

We have not yet had an independent audit. When one happens, the result and the date will be published here, including the parts we failed.

What is built in

• Every chart has a text equivalent on the page, not an alt attribute standing in for one. The numbers and their sources are readable as text.
• No text inside an SVG below a 700px viewport. Diagram labels are hidden at that width and the list underneath carries the same words.
• Body text is 18px and never below 16px. Nothing is set in a size that assumes good eyesight.
• Keyboard focus is always visible, and there is a skip link to the main content as the first thing you reach.
• Headings run in order, with one h1 per page and no skipped levels.
• Every form field has a real label. Groups of checkboxes are grouped, and hints are read out with the field they belong to.
• The form tabs are a real tablist: arrow keys move between them and each panel is announced with the tab that opened it.
• All motion is guarded by prefers-reduced-motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, nothing on this site animates.
• Colour is never the only way something is communicated.
• Text contrast meets AA. The clay accent fails contrast at body size, so it is reserved for large text and never used for small type on cream.

Known problems

These are real and we would rather name them than wait until they are fixed:

• No independent audit yet, and no screen reader testing against the intake forms with a real user.
• The flywheel diagram is described by a summary label. A person using a screen reader gets the shape of the cycle and the five stages from the numbered list beneath it, which carries the full content, but not the arrows.
• The admin dashboard table is wide and scrolls sideways on a small screen. It is a tool for a desk and has not been designed for a phone.
• Some third-party research we cite is only published as a PDF, and we do not control how accessible those documents are.

Tell us it is broken

If any part of this site keeps you from doing what you came to do, write to hello@georgiaangels.com and say what happened, what you were using, and what you expected. You will get a reply from a person within two business days.

If a form on this site will not work for you, that email address does everything the forms do. Say what you wanted to tell us and we will take it from there. Nobody is going to be turned away because a control did not behave.
